Skydive Jeffreys Bay first came into existence in June 2017. Originally a weekend only dropzone in Grahamstown, the team decided to move the operation to Jeffreys bay and become a full time operation. Jumping out of planes full time and for fun; you will find the team extremely friendly, hospitable and passionate about skydiving
Owners Gerrit van Zyl (left) and Alexis McNaughton (right). Brothers from another mother. Both Alexis and Gerrit served in the British Army Parachute Regiment. Becoming good friends instantly and sharing a passion for skydiving, Alexis and Gerrit made plans to run a skydiving school together. What better than place than beautiful Jeffreys bay! When they are not jumping you may easily bump into Gerrit at one of Jeffreys bay surf spots, or when the wind picks up Alexis out kitesurfing.
Hein Geldenhuys. Chief Instructor. With over 25 years and 8000 jumps Hein Geldenhuys is more than qualified to oversee to safety at the dropzone. In 2004 Hein actually taught Alexis to skydive at Grahamstown. Hein is also a 1000hr jump pilot and when he is not jumping loves to chase a yellow ball around a concrete court.
Lukhanyiso Teveta. AKA Rasta. Packer and grounds keeper. Rasta has been packing parachutes for over ten years with fantastic openings. You can thank him when your parachute opens comfortably and straight.
Cayla is the most civilised person at the dropzone. This is the wonderful lady you will speak to to make a booking. Cayla has 3 tandems and is looking at starting her actual course soon. Cayla also edits your videos and ensures that the entire drop zone runs smoothly.
Brandon is the dropzones camera man. Brandon has been jumping for 8 years and is shortly about to make his 1000th jump. Brandon is also a freefly coach and loves kite surfing. Brandon is next up to get his tandem instructor rating!
Samkeliso is the dropzone pilot. Sam is a Commercial Pilot with over 5 years flying experience. Sam loves being in the sky but we are yet to see him jump out of an aeroplane. Watch this space…
